San Diego Trip-Part 4: Sea World (scroll down for Parts 1-3)

The day before we came back home we went to Sea World. Drake enjoyed every minute (that he wasn't sleeping) of it and kept calling everything "burr" (bird) the new word that his Gigi taught him to say. Drake also picked out his own toy, a little white seal that still cracks him up every time that he looks at it.

We had such a wonderful time in San Diego. Thank you Mom and Larry for making Drake's first trip so special!

San Diego Trip-Part 3: La Jolla Childrens Cove & La Jolla Beach

If you ever go to the San Diego area, I highly recommend that you go over to La Jolla to the Children's Cove area to see the harbor seals that have made it their home. It's incredible and one of my favorite parts of the area (I've gone all 3 times that I've been out to California). Drake loved the seals! We also took Drake to La Jolla Beach and put his feet in the sand and ocean for the first time ever-he didn't get to swim because the water was too chilly.

After our trip to the beach David and I also had a date night, dinner and drinks,in the Gas Lamp district (sorry no pictures).

San Diego Trip-Part 2: Wild Animal Park, Orfila Winery, Menifee, CA

We went to the Wild Animal Park and my step-sister Sadie and her family (Randy, Samantha, and Maddy) and my step-brother, Jared and his wife Bree met up with us. After the Wild Animal Park we were able to stop by the Orfila Winery for a few tastes (My mom stayed out in the car with Drake-he wasn't interested in the winery). The next day we drove over to see everyone again in Menifee (by Temecula).

San Diego Trip-Part 1: the Bay and Coronado

We went to San Diego from April 16-22 to visit my mom and step-dad. Drake was amazing on the plane-we even had several people come up and tell us that they didn't know that there was a baby on the plane, both there and back. What a compliment!
Our little Texas selves were looking forward to the beautiful 75 degree weather, but to our surprise the day after we arrived was the beginning of a record-breaking heat wave...not just a few year record, 90 + year records were broken! Luckily we're used to it! All joking aside, it was beautiful and we had a wonderful time. I've decided to break up this post so that I can include pictures.

The first few days that we were there, we went to San Diego bay and took the ferry to Coronado.

Here are pictures of Drake's first plane trip,in Coronado, the San Diego skyline and the USS Midway from the ferry

Easter and Uncle JT's visit

Sorry for the delay but we just got back from our vacation to San Diego to see my parents.
David's brother JT came down to Dallas to spend Easter with us this year. We took Drake to the Dallas Arboretum hoping to take some pictures of Drake with the flowers, however once again Drake was not in the mood for our photo session. Despite his attempt to avoid the camera, we did get some cute ones!

I'll post soon about our San Diego trip!

Pictures

I'm a little late, but wanted to post some pictures of Mr. 8 month old. We tried last weekend to go and get professional Easter pictures with no luck (Drakey doesn't like people to be up in his face). It looks like we'll be taking our own pictures of our little Easter bunny this year!
