Today Drake is 8 months old! It's hard to believe that in just 4 short months, we will be celebrating his first birthday! Being the planners that we are, we've picked a theme and David is already in hardcore party planning mode (for those that know him, that's not hard to imagine :)). I will take pictures this evening and post them soon.
We were still on our honeymoon in Hawaii. Much better than being at work...sigh.
Three years ago today was one of the happiest days of my life, it was on this day in 2006 that I married my best friend. Our wedding was perfect, the reception was a blast, and I wouldn't change anything about that amazing day.
It's hard for me to believe that it has been almost 10 years since I first met David at the Phi Delt house in Stillwater. At the time, as friends, we had no idea that we would end up together (although David swears he knew from day one), but God had other plans.
David, I want to thank you for always being here for me, for being my very best friend. Thank you for Drake and for being such an wonderful father to him. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for us. I love you!
Today is Drake's first St. Patrick's day so I had to get some pictures of him this morning. I also wanted to post some pictures of us enjoying the warm Texas weather with Drake yesterday evening. He's started giving kisses and they are so sweet!
He looks more and more like a little boy every day.
A few of you might notice (and others may not) that I have changed the title of our blog. While it is true that this blog will almost always be about our sweet boy Drake Mason Wasemiller, there might be another baby Wasemiller in a few years that we will blog about too. It only seems fair to change the title-although the link will forever be a tribute to our first born. :)
A few weeks ago I posted about a family who tragically lost their little girl to cancer. The family's dream is to build a playground in memory of their sweet daughter Cora. It was exactly 1 year ago today that we found out that we were having a boy! We went in for our big ultrasound and Drake had his legs crossed almost the entire time! The ultrasound tech had to really work to try to make him uncross (he's still a bit of a modest baby).
I know some people say that it can ruin one of life's only surprises if you find out what you are having, but I don't regret it for one minute. Not only was it great for planning purpose, but also because I feel like I really got to know Drake before he was born.

When I was about Drake's age, I made this face that we called "monkey face". Imagine my surprise when Drake started making the exact same face about a week ago! Here is Drake's version of "monkey face". I'll try to scan mine sometime and post it with his.
