I realized while posting pictures of Baby Gage, I've never posted pictures of my niece Shaelyn (could be because my brother never sends me any...seriously Craig-send pictures!).
Here's one of the few pics that I have of the little sweetie who I have only met once, that's what happens when your brother moves all the way to Wyoming.
I am so excited to say that I am an Aunt to my first ever nephew Gage DeQuasie who was born on February 24th and he is absolutely precious. Congratulations Kristen and Greg, you did a great job! I'm sure that Drake and his cousin Gage are going to be the best of friends.

I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical (and hopeful) about the forecast for Dallas to receive any amount of snow aside from a light dusting but I was definitely wrong. We ended up getting 12.5 inches! I grew up in Iowa in the snow (and ice and cold...) so I couldn't wait to get Drake outside and let him play in the fluffy white stuff. He'd seen the snow before-when we were in Oklahoma for Christmas and received 14 inches-but he'd never been out in it. We were dismissed early from work and stopped by Target to buy him some rain boots (hey-it's Texas, stores don't carry snow boots). As soon as we got home we bundled him up and headed out to play. Unfortunately Drake wasn't as excited as we were about the snow and cold, although he did love the snowman-or as he calls them "no man". To Drake's defense he was diagnosed with a double ear infection the day after these pictures were taken so I think that may have had something to do with his less than enthusiastic attitude.
with a little boy haircut! Morning after morning of trying to tame Drake's wild hair finally drove me to give in and cut all of his hair off (I promise I didn't cry...much). We took him to a local place that specializes in haircuts for kids-basically they're trained to handle crazy, tantrum throwing toddlers. Drake did surprisingly well and when she was finished, I swear that he aged at least 2 years.
