Big changes are coming!

As of July 9th, I will be leaving my current job to work part time from home and to stay home with Drake!  This opportunity was something that David and I have prayed about for a long time and we were so happy when my fantastic friend Betsy gave me a referral to her company.  I know that staying home with an almost 2 year old is definitely going to be more challenging than anything that I do at my current job, but I absolutely can't wait for this little guy to be my new boss :)

Vacation 2010

The last week of May we were able to take a nice week long vacation and just hang out as a family.  Last year for vacation we went to San Diego, but this year we really didn't want to take Drake on a plane to go anywhere (the almost 2 thing is definitely kicking in).   So we decided to keep it pretty close to home. For part of the week we went to San Antonio and for other part we were just able to hang out and relax.  It was nice to have a little family vacation, just the 3 of us.

Back at home we just played with trains, went to feed the geese and laid around...

I'm definitely ready for another vacation!

May 2010-Playdates

We were lucky to have a few playdates in the month of May.  Here is a quick rundown of those over the month.

We went over to visit Besty, Jared, William and Henry (and actually got a picture of Henry this time YAY!).

Sadly, my step father, Larry's mother passed away so we drove up to Hollis for the funeral.  Although under unfortunate circumstances, Drake had fun playing with the goats and cousin Matt.

Matt already knows how to work on the farm :)

And finally toward the end of the month, we were able to get together with David's cousin Tim, his wife Kelly, and their little boy, Luke.  Drake had fun with cousin Luke!

Congratulations JT and Stacey!

David's brother JT married his fantastic girlfriend Stacey on June 12th.  We had such a great time that this is the only picture that we took at the wedding-it's not even of the bride and groom!

Drake update

Hello all,

Sorry that I have been so bad about keeping up lately but I'm going to work on changing that soon.  Things have just been crazy!  We were on vacation last week so I have a post about that and some other news (no, no baby news sorry :)) but I wanted to do a quick post about how the Drakester and what he's been up to lately.

He is 22 months old and is:

• running everywhere
• can recite the entire alphabet by looking at the letters
• can count to 10 (sometimes 11)
• is talking up a storm (honestly he can repeat anything we say and that is scary)
• is becoming extremely "toddler like" (aka demanding, free spirited, and independent)
• wants everything he does to be "funny" (he will ask us, "Mommy, funny?" when he does something)
• loves to be outside
• loves the water
• is cuter than ever-proof below :)
